BASC renews Arran Stalking lease

Recommended Posts

BASC’s Deer Department has been successful in winning the Forestry Commission Scotland tender for deer stalking on the Isle of Arran for 2010/11 with the option to renew for up to 5 years.

BASC competed in an open, fair and transparent tender process and was able to show that the Association is committed to achieving excellence in deer management and in providing good value stalking opportunities for its members.

Chris Brooks, BASC Deer Officer, said: “We are delighted to have had our bid accepted. BASC has held the stalking permission on the Isle of Arran for the last five years and it’s our most popular stalking scheme. It allows members the opportunity to stalk red deer in a challenging upland wooded environment. We can now confirm the reservations for everyone that has already booked and we will be sending out the coordinating instructions very shortly. There are still a few spaces available on the stag weeks and plenty of choice for the hinds.”
