Dunkield
I don't know much about these sort of guns but my mate has a T4(?) Lee Enfield in 308 that cost peanuts and is pretty accurate. He shoots it at Sennybridge where they shoot up cars and things like that with tracer - whatever floats you boat I guess :yp: Dont't know about 900 yards though, depends what your definition of 'accurate' is I suppose. I think Gemini may know a bit about these tools.

Baldrick
I believe the Enforcer was still in service as a sniper rifle until the 70s/80s, when it was replaced by the Parker Hale M85 (?). The WW1/2 Lee Enfields were .303, not 7.62NATO.
Riothedog
The Parker Hale was - and still is - a pretty good rifle. This one is probably getting old in the tooth. If it's going cheap and you like the calibre then it's probably a bargain. Unless it's shot out, that is... As for the accuracy, 900 yards is probably a yes when you add the phrase "... relative to a ..." Compared to the current kit which I believe is still an Accuracy International (who I think have gone bust and changed hands) it is a piece of antique furniture. Less than an inch at 100 yards, probably. Sub MOA, probably not. You can get a brilliant rifle these days from just about everyone. deadeye ive
These old rifles ......lee Enfields etc ,kind of blow the theory of having to float the barrel out of the water where accuracy is concerned don't you think Ive
Devilishdave
That looks to me like an L 42 sniper rifle it was replaced by the L96 by accuracy international. I have fired it a few times years ago and thought it was good. I know a number of guys that swear by them. The L96 is better. I beleive they are to be replaced shortly, they will make an excelent range or hunting rifle. The 96 has thumbhole and is beaded on an aluminiom chassis with Scmidt optics. Will be well worth snaping one up.
