Went and saw an owner of a small holding today and had what turned out to be the strangest permission interview yet !

Me:- Hi , I am the chap you spoke to on the phone about your rabbit problem
Land owner:- Yeah , I want the badgers gone.
Me:- err Sorry ?
Land owner:- Badgers !
Me:- err , I can't shoot badgers !
Land owner:- But I want them gone, and that flaming cat.. ****s in my roses.
Me:- I can't shoot badgers or cats, badgers are a protected species
Land owner:- Bull****
Me :- err
Land owner:- There is a cull you know !
Me:- the cull has been cancelled and it never even made it to this area
Land owner:- So your not going to shoot the bagers
me:- NO
Land owner:- what about the cat ?
me :- I hope it lives to a very old age.
Land owner:- hmm
me:- I think this is a waste of our time
Land owner:- No
me:- No ?
Land owner:- you got my permission as long as your can show me your BASC card
me:- I don't think you understand , I won't shoot the badgers or the cat.
Land owner:- and that's why you have my permission to shoot my land, as long as you are basc
me:- you crafty ..
me:- here is my insurance, and permission slip.
me:- you tried that on anyone else ?
Land owner:- Yeah , he said no problem.. I said pea off !

it's only six small fields, but packed with rabbits apparently :)

Dodgy old geezer, how many of us would have said we would kill badgers just to get the perm (obviously we wouldn't i hope to think) but I got asked a couple of years ago with a perm we have had for a while and I said , leave it with me, the farmer has never bothered me on the subject again ;)
