Non natives are a bad idea in general. There are one or two that aren't a problem and fit in quite well- Little owl and Pheasant for example. However its not worth taking the risk of allowing non-natives to prolliferate. We should learn our lesson from the devastation caused by Grey squirrel, American crayfish, Zebra mussel etc.

Re the non native issue it's been interesting to note the spread and increase of White Egrets in The East. Cracking looking birds.

 

Saw one this afternoon having a fight with a Rook. The Rook wasn't happy!

 

This one was 15 miles further inland than I've seen them before.

Theres at least three little egrets on my farm in middle of nottinghamshire. See em every week

Yes they're here in East Yorks as well. I have fishing ponds, so am not over joyed to see another fish eater floating about.
