Turbo flapper controls

Ive got myself an AA decoys turbo flapper, it comes with the intermittent controller, but can i also fit a speed controller to it too, will that then slow the wing beats down and make it more usable for crows maybe?

hi mate yes you can, you might have to try 2 different set up's. i,e, the timer connected to the battery, THEN, the speed controller. Or, the speed controller, connected to the battery, THEN connect that to the random timer, either way you wont do any damage trying. Probably best to remember to wind the speed controller down before you try, then crank it up to the seed you want. Good luck!

  • 2 weeks later...

I bought a voltage step-up from eBay to try on my old flapper but haven't got around to trying it.

It has adjustment via a tiny screw(potentiometer)but also a large heat sink(which may mean it uses a lot more power?)adjusts 12v up to about 18v I think.

Has anyone tried this as dc motors could take a little more voltage than 12v.

I am presuming that standard speed controllers operate up to battery voltage(12v).

Would be interesting to have a view off an electrician?
