caeser
Decided to have a go after the bass, the first session of this year. I was thinking that it might be a bit early, but we were itching to go. Fishing Lleyn peninsula ,the surf looked like it was going to be promising. On arrival we were surprised to find that the surf was a lot bigger than expected. There was no wind, it was pure Atlantic swell. No peeler crab yet, so worm it was. Fished through the night, had a break for a couple of hours over low water. Ended up with 2 bass for me, both about 2lb, so nice fish. My mate had 1 bass about 3lb. Missed a few slack line bites, probably because of the huge surf (well thats my excuse anyway.) Oh, and my mate also caught 2 whiting. So we were well satisfied with the results for the time of year. Not a great bag , but it great to feel the thump of a bass on the rod again. I took a couple of pictures of the surf just before started fishing, but that that was all. None of the fish I'm afraid. I promise next time I go I'll take some pictures of the catch. Edited March 15, 2014 by caeser

hedd-wyn
Indeed they have come early this year (earlier than last year) Off to Dinas Dinlle tonight for some bass also. Was up at 4-00 this morning on the crows so will need a huge flask of coffee to stay awake... and possibly some cocaine. Very well done Caeser

hedd-wyn
Blanked last night unfortunately, a few codlings were caught but no bass. It was a stunning night though full moon and the wind was warm. Will try again next weekend, I love this time of year
