rec-baller
I took my 4 yr old springer spaniel bitch for a walk yesterday, we went across some fields where she seemed to eat a lot of grass from the verges- something she always seems to do - Today she doesn't seem to want to pass any stools ( poo) she has eaten and drunk water as normal , but won't poo !! Anybody got any ideas of how to unblock her ?? If I need to I,ll take her too the vets Shaun Edited March 18, 2014 by rec-baller
kent
Just keep an eye on her she might have eaten the grass to try and sick up a blockage like a bone fragment. I cant recommend rooting around for the grass even with gloves on. Speak to a vet if you have concerns but it happens to us as well face it, some days we don't poop! I should just observe personally

rec-baller
Went to the vets and got her checked out. Got some unbunging medicine, now need black bin bags not poo bags for the next few days !
JackBStrfc
Try tuna in sunflower oil with boiled rice always seems to loosen my dog up when he's a bit compacted. Heard it on a shoot one day and it works.
pigeon-hunter
My lab pup goes threw stages of doing the same thing, always grabbing at grass. But he doesn't have problems with his poo or sick. Once he ate a lot on a walk and that night he was sick bit of food and the random twigs etc from the garden.
