Brilliant :good: I've two very wary birds in the garden and have failed so far to get them into the Larsen. Looks like your bait might be a way forward :good:

Cheers turbo, I'm like a kid on his first fishing trip every time I check the trap!

Yes, I know everyone has favourite baits for their traps but I have found butchers bones are a real pull.

Be patient, curiosity will get the better of them!

To update, no more for me as yet but thought it worth reporting that my pal has set his trap right in the middle of a busy, static caravan site that has heaps of corvids. He has a small compound that is fenced off, so safe from do-good tree-huggers.

He set the trap last week with a magpie call bird and has already had 7 magpies.

His trap is only single entry so can obviously only catch 1 at a time. He says that when he's been checking it, there are 4 or 5 on top of the cage!

I think his success is down to the fact that the magpies are less wary there and they are bold as brass around humans.

He's 1 ahead of me so I need to get catching!

Ha! Bit of a quiet week. I had a HUGE Maggie on Thurs night that I have kept as a caller.

My pal is catching them for fun on the caravan site. At least one every day.

I'm going to leave mine the weekend and if nowt else I'll shift to our farm as they're in lambing and corbies are buzzing about.

Keeps farmer happy too.

I stopped posting as I didn't want to bore folk!
