FX Verminator MK2

Hi All,

After some advice / experience.

Looking at getting a Verminator mk2 in .177 as an all rounder of an air rifle.

Now when it comes to mounts are you having to use quite high ones even with say 44-50mm scopes?

A friend has one and tells me that the cheek piece is so high that he is using high mounts on spacer blocks just to get the scope (50mm) in line with his eye.

He lives too far away just to nip to see and I won't see him for another few months.

Has anyone any experience as I am hoping to get one next Wednesday and I have a spare 44mm scope that I would like to use on it. I know it won't affect it massively sitting the scope up high but always prefer to have scopes as close (not touching) to the barrel as possible.

Many thanks,

ATB.

Hi ya

I had a Vermy MK2 which I seriously regret getting rid of  . The cheek piece is fairly high so high mounts help for this but that's not the major problem you need high mounts just to clear the magazine which sits insanely high from the action. To give you an idea I had a Hawke sidewinder with a 30mm tube and that would not fit on even with high mounts as the saddle of the scope would not clear the mag without extra raiser blocks.

Even with 25mm tubes (I had a night eye digital on it) you needed high mounts to clear the mag and even then it was a matter of mm difference.

Hope this helps

Neil
