Cookie69
Hi guys need a little advice please. I have a nearly 9mth old cocker who I have been working on the stay command, and he has been doing quite well. I have also used the stay command to incorporate some thrown dummys over his head and either side for steadiness . I have picked a few up and sent him for a few, his delivery has a lot to be desired, but my main concern now is over the last week when I sit and stay him I can walk 5yrd 10yrd 15yrd up 30 yrd no problem, but if he sees my hand go in the bag for a dummy he creeps forward?? and wants to come really close to me ,is this what the term sticky relates to?? would appreciate some advise on what to do Thanks Paul Edited April 10, 2014 by Cookie69
oscarsdad
When he creeps tell him no and if he doesn't stop go and physically move him back to the spot you sat him in. Jet does similar...if he thinks a dummy is about to be thrown etc he tries to creep forward or starts to lift him bum. Cockers are just too clever! Lol! Keeps looking back to the handler for reassurance This is usually the fault of the handler being to hard on a dog while training Edited April 16, 2014 by Actionpigeons
