Managed to find a good number feeding on the bean fields yesterday. These beans are about an inch high but there are still quite a lot on top just sprouting. The farmer turned up as i sat watching them unfortunatly the field they seem to prefer was the furthest away.Bloody hell he said when he saw the flock take off must have been a good 6 or 7 hundred birds and more flighting to the field. Are you having a bash he said think so i replied just dont fancy the long walk its about 3 fields away .Drive down there was his reply just stay on tram lines wont do no harm right im off i said.So set up 12 shells and the whirly gig birds didnt decoy very well but managed to coax a few in.Then farmer rang me they are all settling in field behind the farm il scare them off he said .Heard a bang and the sky filled with birds behind me and went back to surrounding woods. It was slow going after that the birds just dropping on the other fields there are 8 in the block. But still managed to bag 124 lost a few in spinney even dog coudnt find them but enjoyable day.Got 2 half days this week so hopefully get another go at them take another gun this time to keep them moving

Excellent , not shot on bean drilling for years , one of my farms put 80 acres in this year but nothing on them , they were put in very deep.

I often wonder if treading on the beans as they come through does any long term damaged as the seem fragile , anyone know if it does ?

Well Done that's a cracking bag mate 😉 I've only got one field of beans gone in on my perms and can't shoot it because of the location ( to near a busy A road ) and I think that's where a good majority of the pigeons were heading to today that's my excuse for a bad day anyway (10) lol
