mrmints
I'm wondering what I should do with the dog when we go away this year. We're going for a week and the dogs can't come. The staffy is fine, because she likes the house sitter more than us. However, I don't really want the house sitter ruining Lucy. She carries a bum bag full of treats around and just feeds them constantly. So my options are, ship her off to a mates kennel where she will get the same treatment as the other gundogs but probably be stressed as hell moving, or leave her in situ and have a serious word with the house sitter about dos and don'ts. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks, Chris
WGD
Stressed as hell? Don't humanise it, put the dog in your mates kennel and enjoy your holiday.
mrmints
Well she howled for about 6 days when I brought her home. Presumably that's some kind of canine displeasure?
timd999
Well she howled for about 6 days when I brought her home. Presumably that's some kind of canine displeasure? Did your mate say that she'd struggled with kennel life on the previous occasion? Dogs are pack animals by nature and maybe she was just trying to locate her absent, newly-found friends. Any amount of strong words to your house sitter may be ignored the moment your car heads out of the drive. I'm certainly no expert but always try to remember the dog trainer's motto: "Three years to make. Three minutes to mar" Happy hols!
