Went to check on some peas this afternoon that were drilled last week not a bird on them.Sat for 30 mins watching the field and noticed a few birds dropping over the hedge at the back of the field.Quck phone call to the farmer whos land it was

to see if anything had been drilled.O yes he says 7 fields of barley drilled into the wheat stubble started them on saturday. Can i shoot them i said of course was the reply didnt need telling twice.Drove up the track to the fields and there was hundreds already on one of the fields and the drill was still working on one of the larger fields. This was 2 oclock now so didnt really have to much time to study flight lines and such so just set up with the wind from the right of me and the sun to my left it was like summer.Strange isnt it a farmer gets 50 pigeons on his rape my phones going off get 1000 on the drillings not hear anything ?.Well shells out and rotary out shot from 2.30 to 6 ended up with 53 pigeons 4 rooks 2 crows and 2 jackdaws not a bad afternoon roll on thursday for a proper go at them

Very nice!

I spent yesterday reppacing the roof on my old mans shed!

"can you re felt my shed?" the roof is solid he says!

I got there and took a ganger at the water ingress and the roof was rotten! So I set about stripping out the rot and then rolled on the felt adhesive, and re felted. Took 4 hours in all, I have a very sore head due to sunburn. At least if I was in a field somewhere I would have had a hat on

Have to go back tomorrow to pop the new trim on. No doubt there will be a handful of other jobs needing doing too
