double10
Hi all, Applying for face soon to get two rifles, one for target and one for lightweight sport rifle. I understand that the ruger is one of the more common choices for lsr and after enquireing at my local shop for prices he said that they won't reliably cycle subsonics. Is this right as I'm sure I've only used subs in them before and you wouldn't really want high velocity indoors. Cheers
welshwarrior
I've had no problems with most of my 10/22s one did need the bolt rear face rounded and the innards polished smooth.
team tractor
My v22 cycled subs at first but that's a cz insides . My mates 10/22 cycled subs a treat
sonicdmb
not all sub sonics are created equal my 1022 will cycle some but not all brands. I think there is a replacement recoil spring that sorts it but you must change it back to standard if you want to use Hi velocity.

double10
Thanks for confirming I haven't used it much but it was great fun using it at bisley in a practical type situation! Generally for hunting(rabbits really) how are they? I'd be using it predominantly for lsr but if it's good then it'd be nice to be able to use it for both. Generally for hunting(rabbits really) how are they?cant be faulted as a cheap semiauto in my eyes mine was the first FAC rifle I purchased at £120 including a cheap scope and mod what more is needed their are plenty of videos on youtube that will help you tune it, they can be ammo fussy mine hates whinchesters jams every ten rounds but loves lapua I'd be using it predominantly for lsr but if it's good then it'd be nice to be able to use it for both. kennett
I used a 10/22 with win subs to shoot thousands of rabbits, only changed to cz bolt action as they are less bothered by the dust and rubbish kicked up when lamping on dry summer fields
kent
Have you solved your age problem now then? Many use auto .22s with subsonic, have a look at rimfire magic (south Yorkshire shooting supplies) full range of custom stuff and 10/22 ruger stuff. Personally I prefer a good bolt gun
bullet boy
As long as you keep the rifle clean you'll have good performance.
welshwarrior
Mine worked great on bunnies for years, you have to enjoy tinkering with a 10/22 I only stopped using mine as wife complained about the empty case in the car, and had more 22s than I really needed. They are a marmite gun IMHO
jay222
Mine runs perfectly on subs and is as accurate as my cz bolt action too
