I have been a very good boy and decided to treat myself to a new bike, but struggling to decide which so I thought I'd ask others views.

Choices are:

1) Speed Triple 1050

2) Triumph Tiger 1050

3) Aprilia Tuono

I'm more into old stuff but, that Speed Triple looks solid powerful and mean. The Tiger looks all dressed up with nowhere to go. The Aprilia looks to be holding up that fine Italian tradition of making up a bike from parts bin leftovers. Of course riding them's the thing to do first.

To be fair you have put up a pic of the old Tuono. There's been 2 since then.

Put that one up as it is the same as the one I had and I liked the colour scheme.

Have to say out of the three I am drawn to another street triple, the one I had I would say was the best bike I've owned

Horses for courses mate. A pal of mind test rode a Speed Triple and a Tuono. He said the Tuono was quicker, but the Triple more comfortable. He ended up getting a Triple. Whatever you choose, it'll be the best bike for YOU. Good luck with choosing. :good:

Not the Tiger if you like to crack on a bit, within the law of course. Suspension too soft for pushing hard into bends and will wallow like a boat if your a fast big heavy bloke, two up or loading it with three luggages. On the other hand superbly comfortable and smooth if you want to tour at a sensible pace. Depends what you want - ride out grins, in which case the triple or Aprilia or a more comfortable relaxed cruise ?

The triumph triple engine is an absolute peach, the Aprilia also but requires a little more caution/skill in the bends due to slightly more engine braking when carrying high revs. The initial pick up from a neutral throttle to power on in mid corner is snatchy on the Aprilia if using it hard in the lower gears. Can upset your line a bit and make you wish you'd carried less speed in. The triple fuelling a little better balanced in my opinion and looks the dogs n**ts.

But really I am splitting hairs here, all three are great pieces of engineering in their own right.

P.S The sound of the triple engine on chat with a good can on it is just spine tingling, smile inducing loveliness....

Edited for poor spelling as usual :)
