Tonyc Posted July 9, 2014 Report Share Posted July 9, 2014 Got my first FL2 in December 2006 - on my second one from new now, done around 150,00 in the two of them with virtually trouble free motoring, any issues dealt with under warranty promptly by Team Valley Land Rover. Used off road quite a bit and is brilliant in snow - never ever been stuck apart from once when I misjudged the depth of the snow and bellied it. Diesel consumption on a long run is around 40/42 mpg, 33/35 around town. Current car is an auto GS, first one a manual SE. Fuel good but if I could find anything to gripe about it would be that the boot/storage is slightly small but that really would be splitting hairs. It went everywhere it needed to go, carried half a ton of wheat with the seats down and towed the quad/trailer without any hassle. Nice to drive and decent on road too. steveyg Posted July 9, 2014 Report Share Posted July 9, 2014 I bought a 2007 freelander auto diesel GS td4 in February and have been really pleased with its mpg (avg 33/35 on a run) and comfort. I have taken it off road and have no issues.I have done around 12,000 miles in mine and touch wood...have not problems to report. superspark Posted July 10, 2014 Report Share Posted July 10, 2014 Hi, I owned a 2008 Freelander2 SE manual. It was the worst car ive ever had. In 30,000 miles had 3 new clutches, power steering pump,new power steering resivour, steering rack, new discs and pads all round, brake control unit, reversing sensors, door control modules both front and back, door seals, wheel arch trims. The list goes on. Not counting the things done under warranty it cost me over £4000. got shot of that pile of junk very quickly in a part exchange. Will never touch another one with a barge pole. Had my 09 HSE Auto for about 16 months, about 42k on the clock when I bought it and just coming up to 70k now!! Estimate that >80% of those miles are clay shooting related. Not been off road much but I haven't got a worry, its now got decent tyres on (Michelin Latitude Cross) and I know it will cope as well as my previous P38 Range Rovers with the exception of ground clearance. Not had a single issue with it, its quiet, comfortable, reasonably economical (37mpg over a 3,000 mile round trip to the S of France) Would I recommend one, well that's a big fat YES from me. bisondan Posted July 12, 2014 Report Share Posted July 12, 2014 This is the sort of motor I will be looking for when I pass my test (passed my theory this morning) as they look ideal for everything I do. Won't be doing loads of long journeys but will comfortably be able to get me to shooting, fishing, and cricket which is all fairly local.
