ferrets with fleas

Hi all.

I think my two Jill Kitts might have fleas. I have not seen any fleas or lice on them. But I have seen black dust like bits in there fur. Which I think could be flea droppings. But not 100% sure.

I have two cats that are out all day long. And go I. High grass. Plusses there are quite a few cats very local to us too and fleas can be a problem at this time of year for us with the cats.

The ferrets have not been by our cats but they are allowed a run around and play in the living on a night time. So could have picked them up off the carpet I'm thinking.

I also keep chickens in the garden. Which can get mite. So this too might be a problem not now I don't think but at some point might be.

I treat the chickens with powder often with has apart from on rout break earlier this year kept mites at bay.

The cats are treated with advance that we have off the vets for the.

I'm asking what would be good to use for the ferrets? I'm thinking the stuff from the vets might be too strong for them ? How about flea spray/drops from a pet shop? Flea shampoo from a pet shop?

Treated the carpets today with hover an then a good spray with flea spray. It's just a normalize from a pet shop for rooms.

The cats will be done when they get home for there dinner tonight.

The ferrets were cleaned out yesterday but will be done again tomorrow so I'd like to go and get something beforehand to treat them and there bedding . I have cage disinfectant for t her hutch.

I knew to keeping ferrets ,

Thanks all

When mine had fleas.....I would get a disposable blow torch and do the inside of the cage....they didn't like that!!

My cages are 3/4 marine ply....not had fleas on them for years.

TEH

Lol,

Don't think I will try that , I'd have no hutch left !

Frontline spray for the ferrets.

Don't get chicken mites since we made a chicken house out of a plastic garden store about 10 years ago, I don't think the mites like the crevices in the plastic like they do in the wood.

When I replace the chicken house I think I will get a plastic one. I think the company's called green frog? They make some.nice ones. Not cheap but should last a lo.g time.

It will not be for a couple of years I think. As the wooden one I have is very well made . And made out of strong think wood.
