First time shooting OSR stubble

Even though i have shot for 10 years i have never shot over rape , mainly as there was not much rape up in cumbria and where it was grown i could never get permission despite trying . Anyway managed to get a day of the combine due to the showers so thought i would make the most of it by shooting some rape stubble that i combined on wednesday .

Pigeons have been on these fields all winter and like sitting on a line of oak trees down one side , with this in mind i set up about 200m oposit the trees with a nice breeze to my back . Simply used 12 shell decoys on spring sticks and set the magnet up as soon as i shot 2 , i started with the magnet to my right but birds were going wide of me to the right so i moved it to the left witch brought the bird closer so i could shoot them .

I was set up for 3pm and had a fairly hectic first 2 hours and managed to get through 100 shots , however things did quieted down and i only had 25 shots in the next hour . Having only taken 125 cartridges as i was only going for a short session i ran out at 6pm

I only lost 1 bird in some standing rape behind witch i though i better leave . With a average of nearly 2 shots to one bird i was rather please as i can shoot alot worse but i did have some moments today when i just clean missed sitters
