hoggysreels
What l know about air rifles compared to some on PW, you could write on the back of a stamp ... though l have had a couple of airsporters, the last being a Mk 2 ... seem to recall the Mk2 had auto pellet tap opening when cocking. And the scope channels are non standard, as compared by todays offerings .. think thats so! I had one at the same time my mate bought an SMK 19 ... Airsporter was out matched by it with ease. Though the BSA had character. Good on its day, though that day has long gone. Think l was trying to relive my youth, soon realised it, and sold it on. Not comparible with new stuff. Though high on nostalgia. Buy for your own satisfaction, no one elses!! ... cheers
fenboy
Yes they have a scope rail I sold a Mk2 on behalf of my uncle , it was in excellent condition and had the shroud over the front sight which tend to go missing and can make £30 alone , the etching was in good condition too , something else to look out for , his made £
Rimfireboy
My experience of airsporters is that they got by for years on their name and styling. The early ones were nice, mk1 & mk2, later ones, not so nice. I had an airsporter 'S' model, their flagship model at the time. Power and accuracy was ok, ish with eley wasp.22 . Any other pellets I tried it was down on power 9-9.5 ft lb from 11.5 with wasps, and accuracy was poor due to the 5.6 bore. Loading taps could be out of alignment as well. Just my opinion, some will disagree, but I've used quite a few and been impressed by none. Personally, I prefer the old meteor.

Accuracy is almost always average, the firing cycle fairly crude, the under lever is far from well designed and power issues hard to fix as they're not easy to strip or work on but they look fantastic, definite case of triumph of style over substance.
