loriusgarrulus
http://www.bonovate.com/dogends.html Wondering whether to get one in as OH's springer is not docked, so its bound to need one sooner or later. Anyone used one? Edited July 17, 2014 by loriusgarrulus
PERCE
I can't remember where but you can buy products like this from elsewhere that are used in construction etc. They're considerably cheaper & will do the same job. Join http://www.gundogtrainingforum.co.uk/phpbb/ & do a search I think that I posted a link to a supplier on a thread in there.
loriusgarrulus
Thanks for the info. Could only find a suggestion to use pipe lagging though, which won't allow the airflow to the tail.
fenboy
Its only protective mesh , comes on lots of engineering parts such as shafts , talking of shafts thats just what they are doing by calling it another name and charging silly money for it ! loriusgarrulus
Found one supplier but didn't really want to buy 10 metres +delivery and by the time I have bought the surgical tape as well it was an expensive alternative. DJL4
Take a trip to any shop selling wild bird foods and you'll find any number of different foods that come in nice plastic mesh expandable bags which would serve exactly the same purpose ..... And you get to feed the birds in your garden. DaveL
loriusgarrulus
Plastic mesh will rub. Wants the softer silicone mesh that is thicker and will give some protection. With 3 of our cats that hunt, don't plan on putting a bird feeder in the garden. They usually just catch grey squirrels and other rodents, don't want them getting ideas about birds. Bazooka
A smarties tube with a balloon over it does the trick. One of the long balloons shaped like a sausage with holes cut either end wide enough to thread the end of the tail in but not too wide that they don't hold the tube in place. Put the smarties in your pocket as treats.
loriusgarrulus
Don't give the dogs chocolate, don't mind the Smarties as treats for me though.
Bazooka
Thanks for the info. Could only find a suggestion to use pipe lagging though, which won't allow the airflow to the tail. Why does the tail need air flow? I've had my pauls tucked away nice and comfy for almost half a century on a daily basis and they haven't come to any harm ...yet. Like-wise my plates of meat? Why does the dogs tail need air flow?
loriusgarrulus
Only going to use it if he damages it. If it is damaged it will need air to it to allow healing and to stop it going mushy for want of a better word.
