Like everything depends on your budget. I have 2/3 season and 4 season boots for both summer and winter mountaineering, I would suggest about £150 should get you a good pair or Meindl, Asolo, Scarpa etc.

It's all down to the "fit" get into a shop with plenty of choice and try lots on making sure you wear proper walking socks so that the fit represents what you would wear on the day!

I wear Altberg Mallerstang and my wife wears Altberg Fremington boots.

 

Had them five or six years or so now and wouldn't use any others.

 

The sizing in half sizes and width fittings are great and if you have any foot abnormalities they can get round this too.

 

Helps I only live less than an hour away from the factory.

 

They do some boots for beating and a sturdier pair of game keeper boots.
