I have a cable running from the rear accessories socket with a 12v accessories socket on one end and 12v dc connector and a 12v dc 4 way splitter male ends.My 2x Ir spotlights on the roof plus my E700 ir camera and 7inch monitor connect to these 4 way splitter ends. Last night while out lamping it blew the 15amp fuse in the glove comp.It was ok the night before.Would it be better to fit 4 indvidule male 12v accessories sockets to the NV gear and get one of those multiple accessory sockets??? SO this connectec to the accessories socket,then the 4 NV items with tbeir own 12v sockets connected to a multi socket. evo Posted July 23, 2014 Report Share Posted July 23, 2014 it should not have blown a 15amp fuse bud, but anyway if you can individually wire them up that would be better but failing that run from the battery with inline fuses, it sounds to me that you might of had a short somewhere for it to of blown the fuse because your only probably drawing 3-4 amp max hope this helps mate cheers Evo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Davyo Posted July 24, 2014 Author Report Share Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks evo,I think the problem is an additional IR spotlight, the bulb is a 45w xenon.This I think needs to be wired on its own as effectivly its like a car headlight so is poss the culprit that blew the 15a fuse.Poss going to wire the direct from the car battery but wondering what size in line fuse.Googles just baffling the hell out of me.
