Vest Gel Pad Cure

Recommended Posts

When the warm weather came I swapped from my thicker cord shooting vest to a mesh one. Not much padding on it so put a gel pad in the top pocket. Every time I took it off the gel pad fell out. Nearly lost it a couple of times and they are not cheap.

Didn't want to put a button or press stud on as didn't fancy the imprint of it on my shoulder.

Finally hit on the idea of using a small shoe lace sewn above the top of the pocket as the pocket is mesh the lace just passes through the holes and tied with a bow to stop the pad falling out, but allows the pad to be easily removed for the vest to be washed.

Even 21g break clays. Haven't a clue why Olympics is 24g. Not planning on going shooting at the Olympics as left it a bit to start training for that at 58.

I am planning on going hunting eventually and the jump between 28g and 32g is not as big as 24g to 32g.

My instructor recommended going to 28g so I will stick with his advice.
