Hello again !

Went back to the same field as I shot yesterday evening fresh cut barley. 23 dead birds should do the trick I thought to myself. The forecast was over cast skies and a little wind , got to the field, sun blairing no wind. I had already thought of the sun before hand as I think I had a bit of sun stroke from sitting out in it as this particular field doesn't have any tree's. Only a few deeked and what did I missed for some reason , apart from 2 . Not to worry , I was under a main flight path, which runs a paddocks width, parallel to the motorway and the birds were coming up and down constant. So I moved into a position where I could shoot , both birds in the deeks and the 45/50yd high travelers , I had a superb left and right way out behind me crossers was guted no one saw it except anyone travling the m18 past thorne heading for goole at around 6.30 ish if so reply to this topic. Any huw lets get back to it. I shot 7 in the deeks missing double that but proudly never missed a single 45/50 yd high bird, chuffed !! So you tell me? Why i couldn't hit the birds 30 yds out but at 45t50 yd up in air stone dead and I havent changed any thing same gun same chokes as I always use , same carts its a mystery to me ! Any one with any info , pray tell. The scores on the doors at end of play were 32 to me 26 to the pigeon in total .

thanks for taking the time to read.

I was only pondering the same question yesterday. How come it seems to be easier to shoot a bird 35 to 40m overhead than one the same distance as a crosser? Some bright spark will have the answer.

Sadly this time I was not watching your performance.

Well done Ezi for having another go after getting a bit of sunstroke, you boys are pretty hard up north or daft to be out in that heat, mind you I have been 3 or 4 times this week and down the marsh you haven't got no protection from the sun at all , me and Lakeside1000 went Thursday in the heat and just to get there is a fair ole walk and for two pensioners that's an achievement in its self, I started off shooting well but after 2 or 3 hours the sun started to play your eyes up and from then onwards it was hit a few and miss a few more , and that might have been your trouble , the SUN, oh and by the way when we finished we had to carry 88 back and in that heat perhaps were the daft ones.
