nderfel
Anyone with one of this care to give me their opinion please? One has come up for sale locally but it's not a rifle I know anything about Cheers Nick
FalconFN
I have a couple of older falcons, single and multi shot, and they are superbly accurate and easy to work on, I can only assume the later praries are as good or better. I'm 6' 2" and the only issue I have had is with my raptor not having quite enough eye relief with the standard butt pad, even with the scope as far forward as it goes. I don't know if the prarie is the same but and adjustable butt pad cured it for me. It would be good to try it out first though.
nderfel
thanks mate, I am 6' 3" so that's useful advice, I shall have a look at it and see how things go. Its between that and a prestige kub at the moment, I don't know much about then either but from what I read on line they arte both solid well made bits of kit
bruno22rf
Both guns are a little "off the beaten track"-is there any particular reason why you are not looking for one of the more tried and tested guns i.e. S410 etc?
nderfel
A fair question, basically both are for sale locally to me, that's the only reason I ask, because they are convenient and I can 'try before I buy' I do like the look of the r10 mk 2 I must admit but none are local and I don't want to buy something mail order and not like the fit Edited July 28, 2014 by nderfel
FalconFN
Kub maybe a little off the beaten track but Falcon has been around for years and has a very good reputation for light and very accurate rifles.
bruno22rf
Appreciate your predicament, Nick, but is it wise to, potentially, land yourself with a gun that you might regret in the long run. If there's a club near to you then pop along and try members guns or if not then take a day trip out to your nearest dealer and find the gun that feels right. If your local dealer is a decent sort then they will accept guns ordered by you from other dealers-sometimes they charge but if you explain that you will be buying pellets etc from them then they may waiver the charge-dont be worried about buying blind in this situation because you are covered by the Distance selling regs-if you do not like the gun when it arrives (for ANY reason) then you can send it back-you are only liable for the return postage. buggs
The prairie is a cracking gun, first had having used one many times, lovely and light, very quiet and a really nice gun to shoot with, I looked at a kub down the local gun shop matey tried telling me it was the latest thing but a quick search when I got home it seemed it was discontinued? Iv got an s410 had it for years and wouldn't change it for anything else......well maybe a hw 100 but it would be a close call

bruno22rf
The S400 is an amazing gun but, in the back of your mind, you will always wish you had the 10 shot S410
