My big red can of legia is getting low and the missus is complaining about the smell (not so much an issue now but will be come winter) so in the past i ave used birchwood casey barricade something else and legia, I have a sample of clenzoil somewhere to i haven't used.

What else is out there that works and smells nice considering trying the napier spray oil.

Oh and WD40 is not an option!

I've got nearly all of them and the Napier isn't to bad smelling and it works well enough but I think cleanzoil smells better and works better.

Legia keeps the water off the best as it's purely oil and leaves a film on your gun but it gets all over you unless you give it a good wipe off.

You could make your own old fashioned recipe with lanolin Vaseline light machine oil and a solvent to dilute the mix. Supposed to work very well.

its very strange but when I returned from shooting yesterday and started cleaning the shotgun my mrs started moaning about the smell of legia spray.

reading your post to her was a mistake though as her reply was " well im right then aren`t I

it left me mumbling under my breath

WEll just conducted a "sniff test" had a couple of old tins in the cupboard

Parker Hale 009 smelt the best (may have just been propellent) pear dropesque

Birchwood-Casey Barricade (my fav scent) URgh............

Legia now perhaps not so bad after i bought a big can of napier

Napier not nice

Surreal evening, now slightly light headed can anyone confirm the Parker hale 009 smells like pear drops....

Oh and note to others, when you order a can of napier from A1 decoy (amazing service) ordered sunday night arrived this morning! When the receptionist puts it on your desk at work and asks "is it anything nice" dont reply "lube" as you get some seriously odd looks and probably pencilled in for the next "awareness course"

Yes 009 does smell like pear drops.

The Napier makes your gun cabinet smell like a museum.

Should have got the Cleanzoil or Frog Lube, imagine the secretary's face bringing you Frog Lube. It would be worth buying just for that reason.
