Looks like the weihrauch mod has seen its days out, air arms have released its own version called the q tec moderator which is proven to be quietest moderator on the market by 7.5db apparently.

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

I'll try and stop  for a moment whilst I request the source of the information confirming this miraculous achievement!

Cheers :good:

From air arms themselves

I must assume this was from drunken employee at the Game Fair, I am more than confident you will not be able to find anything in writing from AA to support that statement!

It's on air arms website lol

I take it you don't believe that another company can make a moderator any better than what the current market has, but why not???

Some people thought there would never be a better mode of transport than the horse and carriage then the car came along and changed everything.

Come on dekers see the light lol

Instead of attempting to be clever and taking the **** perhaps you could post a link, I see nothing on their site which says proven to be quietest moderator on the market by 7.5db!

That is a massive reduction, when you start with very little noise, as a 12ft lb does compared with a centrefire/rimfire, to generate a further 7.5db reduction over the quietest moderator on the market is a feat the Gods would struggle with.

When you show me I am wrong I will gladly apologise!

This is on Air Arms website. Won't be rushing to change the Weihrauch mod on my Daystate as with the Weihrach on I can't really hear the Daystate, unless of course I put my hearing aids in.

It would seem that you and potentially Rst1990 have fallen straight into the marketing department trap, that does not say proven to be quietest moderator on the market by 7.5db!

It says 7.5db quieter than the market leading silencer and doesn't even quote what that is, it does not even say it is the market leading air rifle silencer, it makes no claim to be the quietest on the market by 7.5db, it simply leads you to assume that, its called marketing, seems it worked and you fell for it.

I do not know what the market leading mod/silencer is, it may well be a SAK, and I know for a fact there are several air rifle mods that are far quieter than a SAK on 12ft lb, so, if they are suggesting it is 7.5db better than a SAK I could easily believe it, I can also easily believe there are quieter mods than the Q-Tec on that basis too!

Air Arms have made a stupid statement which means nothing (without further clarification) and in no way states their mod is even the quietest air rifle mod available, let alone the quietest on the market. That is why they have worded it the way they have, and exactly why they did not say proven to be quietest moderator on the market by 7.5db!

Once again, let me say, you have all fallen for a near meaningless, cleverly worded marketing comment!

PS

AA also states Silencer, if we want to take literal meaning, which is what AA are doing, it may be they only compared it to other models listed as Silencers and did not compare it to Moderators, once again let me stress this is a cleverly worded meaningless marketing comment, which, when analysed says nothing you can check but leads you to believe a lot!

Wow, calm down there.

Only abit of banter don't take it too seriously, I don't work for air arms was just putting it out there for others to take interest.

If air arms have made a mod that does do what they say then great put me down for one, and if they don't they don't it's not the end of the world.

Chill my friend.
