LeadWasp Posted August 13, 2014 Report Share Posted August 13, 2014 Hi - I have a much loved BSA Hornet .22 carbine which is fitted with a threaded over muzzle sleeve to take a silencer. Although the gun is in excellent condition the mod no longer sits in axis with the bore and is throwing pellets. The gun shoots much better without the mod (unknown make) anyway and as a result I want to take the sleeve off and have the barrel 'au naturel'. However having removed the grub screw the sleeve won't come off. It will turn about 270 degrees or slide forwards(off) about 5mm before binding. The barrel appears in good condition underneath. Are these sleeves fitted by making a slight countersink in the barrel to take the grub screw - could it be binding on swarf? Any suggestions as to how to get the darn thing off appreciated.
