goldypurple
Saw a shoot to let advertise locally in a local newspaper. Thought I would enquire, as I have ran DIY shoots in the past and fancied another as a rough shoot. Advertised was 42 acres, mainly woods surrounded arable land, with a lake, how much do you think the guy wanted for the years lease, only birds no stalking. goldypurple
The bloke wanted £1900 yes 1900 he can keep it we worked it out to be £45 an acre he wanted, we were prepared to give a £8 an acre plus a little bit more lol
scotslad
I would have said the only value would be for vermin shooting within the wood itself, so worth very little For a pheasant shoot i'd say pretty much worthless if u have no right to the surrounding land, so really just the pond is worth anything. I woud say ur being very very genrous at 8 quid an acre, he;s having a laugh at 45 quid, if someone is stupid enough to pay that they deserve it. Harsh but true Bet some of the finest shoots in the country don't pay 45 an acre
goldypurple
Yes we were being generous, shooting round here is expensive, I had a forestry shoot for a while and the rent on there was 4k for around 700 acres. We would of rough shot it between about 4 or 5 of us maybe release a few ex layers
