Pigeon Magnet Spin Direction

Got a second hand pigeon magnet it appears to be in good nick...... when connected to the right - and + on the battery it spins clockwise.

The arms supplied are angled for anti clockwise spin so need to reverse the clips on the battery to opposite polarity of the above to have them going in the direction of the arms, did not check this on first use so it spun off a couple of times with just hydra flaps on grrrr there were birds around..........

Question is, and I am sure it has been asked many times on here before.... Clockwise ok? Any I have seen go anti clockwise.... If I run clockwise I would need to have the arms twist tightners underneath and bend the metal part that goes into the bird upwards (middle of the spreader when on) as it would be bent downwards.

OR

Run in anti clockwise and weld the nut so it cannot spin off?

Hope this makes sense just wanting to check before I go making changes and possibly knacker it.....

Cheers

anti clock wise is safer , cuts down any chance of the shaft nut undoing on start up or heavy wind gusts, I had that in the very early days of making some. Yours may have the nut tightened with loctite added which should hold nicely.

Makes no difference which way it spins to the birds.

Had it out last night for a couple of hours, beforehand I tightened it up as much as poss by hand and applied some loctite as deny essex suggested then run the battery wrong way round (anti clockwise) was fine no unscrewing off the threading ect so all good for now. Cheers All......
