nb28 Posted August 18, 2014 Report Share Posted August 18, 2014 hi all. Getting excited for the 1st so i can get out and start hitting some of these greylags. Been seeing them all summer, getting a bit over run with them now, which isnt a bad thing as i quite like going shooting them and eating them! trouble is i dont have an awful amount of luck. Normally i ambush them with a mate but wanting this year to go out early morning and evenings to hopefully decoy them in. motty Posted August 18, 2014 Report Share Posted August 18, 2014 I don't think it matters too much what decoys you use. I have had good success decoying greys with mostly Canada decoys. All very light and easy to place out too. Just watch the patterns they set the day before, then imitate but watch the wind always. Good luck! As already Mentioned The Solway call is Quite good' I have one of Eddie nixons Pinkfoot calls' got it When they first came on the market about Ten yrs ago and it included an instruction sheet to help you get the best from the call. Although a pinkfoot call it can also be used for Greys. I actually Shot my first ever pinkfoot thanks to this call not long after I bought it. I also have a couple of DJ calls both pink and grey' But as you are After Greylag then the call I would recommend Would be the "Greylag Hammer" Best sounding Greylag call i have come across.
