hi all. Getting excited for the 1st so i can get out and start hitting some of these greylags. Been seeing them all summer, getting a bit over run with them now, which isnt a bad thing as i quite like going shooting them and eating them! trouble is i dont have an awful amount of luck. Normally i ambush them with a mate but wanting this year to go out early morning and evenings to hopefully decoy them in. What decoys work best? ive seen the foamies, are they up to much? what call works best too?

thanks in advance

thanks for the relies folks, have a major problem with the greylags out here and no one shoots them!

so are 6 of the foamie decoys good enough? ill be shootng inland

The foamies will not last long at all if they are to get any amount of use , I would get something of a better quality or make some out of plyboard

what call could you recommend?

As already Mentioned The Solway call is Quite good' I have one of Eddie nixons Pinkfoot calls' got it When they first came on the market about Ten yrs ago and it included an instruction sheet to help you get the best from the call. Although a pinkfoot call it can also be used for Greys. I actually Shot my first ever pinkfoot thanks to this call not long after I bought it.

I also have a couple of DJ calls both pink and grey' But as you are After Greylag then the call I would recommend Would be the "Greylag Hammer" Best sounding Greylag call i have come across.
