pepper79
I was wondering how a short dot scope would perform on an air rifle, I've not seen yet any short dot on an air rifle, wouldn't it combine the benefits of both a red dot sight and a scope? I've read that given the limited power of air rifles a 4x magnification is sufficient if not preferable for hunting. I had this scope in mind: http://www.optical-systems.co.uk/en/Sport-optics/Riflescopes/Bushnell-Sportsman-1-5-4-5x21-Riflescope.html Any advice is welcome, pictures would be nicely. lineshooter
I have a 177 Bsa Lightening that I use for pest control, rats etc and I have been toying with the idea of fitting something like this or a short scope with a number 4 ret something like a Nikko Stirling Diamond I-4 x 24, to speed up target acquisition,
pepper79
Could you provide a picture please, once you are done?
blasterjudd
Why not just fix a laser on your barrel or usual scope saves having to change the scope to a wee magnification Plus the laser dots are much faster than any scope in poor light also you need not mount the gun to.shoulder if u have a rat creep out on you? Just a thought as I use a laser mounted on my barrel I love it... Edited September 7, 2014 by blasterjudd
Theskyfox
Can't see why it wouldn't work. Very Call-of-duty-ish lol. I'd also recommend considering looking for an adaptor to a weaver rail (30mm) then you could look at things like ACOG style/red dot sights. -Andrew
kriss
I have a 177 Bsa Lightening that I use for pest control, rats etc and I have been toying with the idea of fitting something like this or a short scope with a number 4 ret something like a Nikko Stirling Diamond I-4 x 24, to speed up target acquisition, in the past 3 weeks ive bought 3 yes 3 of the nikko diamond scopes and the best thing ive done in nearly 50 years of shooting. i have 3 sidewinder scopes 4.5-14x42 and have removed 2 from my guns (now selling them) in favour of the little nikko. for me i just cant miss and much easier to use. will put pic up shortly. this is only my opinion of which we all have our own Edited September 11, 2014 by kriss

pepper79
The reason I asked was that I never saw one mounted on a springer and I was wondering how it would look like, I tempered a bit with a RWS Shutze in MS Paint, I kinda like the look: Would like to see an actual picture of the scope mounted on a springer though.
