I always assumed rabbit, in common with other "wild" meats was lean mean fighting food. A couple of days back I got me a nice big rabbit (I know big means chewy...the slow cooker will see to that ). when I got it home and preped it it had loads of fat in the body cavity, all round the kidneys and full length of the abdomen...I mean...there was a LOT of fat...perfectly healthy rabbit too...clean liver, heart and kidneys. so...are they now loading up fat reserves for the winter or was this just a fat chav of a rabbit?

I've had the same before.

Lots of fat inside the abdomen around the kidneys. Makes me wonder what's inside my body looking at that haha.
