Left Handed Gun

I'm looking for a left handed O/U or Semi Auto shotgun for my Son who isn't a bad shot at all but does have a little difficulty with the lever braking my right handed beretta.

So I assumed with that with a left handed O/U gun the lever would push the opposite way, but I have now been told that this is not always the case and it may just be the cast that makes it a leftie.

can anyone tell me what to look for or ask sellers for so that I can get the right gun for him ?

Yes I think its just the stock cast that make it left handed, if he is having difficulty get him a cheap left handed armsan semi auto think there below £600 or get him a hatsan escort you can get them in left handed if your lucky you might get a Remington 1100 in left hand, also you havent mentioned the price which would help if you really want to push the boat go for a beneli semi or a browning b525 -725 in left haned model or ypu could just buy a cheap o/u and get the stock altered and has he tried a side by side? Some lefties prefer a side by side

Why is he having difficulty? Does he have small hands? I'm ambidextrous but mainly left and It is easier for a lefty to operate the top lever that opens to the right because the hand is basically closing and as such the thumb is just pushing the lever in the natural hand closing mode. All he needs to do is to roll the gun slightly to the left and that should present a better angle to operate the top lever.

I've never had any difficulty with breaking open a right-directing lever, and I'm a leftie too.

In fact, I'll say that it should make no difference at all, UNLESS he's trying to use his right hand to break the gun (like right handers do).

As fortune has said, a slight 'roll' of the gun to the left, while using the left hand to break the gun should ensure that it's entirely comfortable and easy.
