So having never made a pie before and finding a bag of diced venison in the freezer I decided to make a nice pie..

So fried the chunks of venison in the frying pan after dusting the bits in seasoned flour..

Then fried some bacon lardons in the same pan, then into the slow cooker..

I de-glazed the frying pan with a bottle of real ale and tipped that in with a few sprigs of rosemary..

8 hours later a shredded the venison and placed it onto a pie dish,

Then placed some puff pastry over the top, egg washed and into the oven, 180 for 20 mins..

Just finished a plate with steamed cabbage and new potatoes...really pleased with it.

I made a gravy with the left over juice from the slow cooker reduced it down and added a dash of flour to make it thicker...
