kiffy
ive noticed something recently and had to share we all kmow that farmers in general dont want us on their land but tolerate us as we provide a valuable service to them and dont charge for the pleasure and to be fair you cant blame them, i wouldnt want people trampling through my property. where i am in south wales the farmers i have had the pleasure of shooting on their land although fairly friend barely tolerate anyone on their land, one even lost the plot and threw us off for no reason earlier in the year... the last couple of months ive done several trips to hereford as my shooting partner knows someone up there who used to shoot but doesnt anymore and he knows a lot of land owners. we give him a ring and he tells us the farms to go on that weekend from what hes seen driving round. telling us if they say anything tell them i sent you... we dont even have to knock and tell them we are there yesterday we where on one farm which was covered in both crow and pigeon when we got there sadly the decided to go elsewhere as soon as we set up... did see a nice group of 30-40 canadas flying down the bottom of the field and there where loads of mallard floating around some even in range but wrong time of year and wrong carts so they flew by, with my shooting recently id have proibably missed anyway! so after a few hours we moved onto another farm, as we set up one lady walking her dog passed and came upto us and asked if it was ok if she went through the field, then 10 minutes later a guy walking his dog passed, lovely guy a grouse and duck shooter himself then later the farmer came in to collect bales, we unloaded and left the hide for him to carry on and he came and apologised to us! it really is a different world up there not just that but if i need a pasty / monster energy recharge and call in a shop here in my camo i get wierd looks, no one looks twice there. roadkill
Thank god where I am the farmers are polite and are always thankful, we even get a free steak off one for every fox we remove, hopefully will never have to deal with a mardy farmer
39TDS
You have gone to Hereford and hid in hedges and bushes with camo gear and guns and you are wondering why folk are polite and respectful? Walt

Big Al
Just be careful if you encounter similarly clad people. And very polite.

stuy
They are very good in hereford, I seem to see more welsh people shooting pigeons there than local people. which side of hereford are you? You must also be careful the way you shoot saying this mate sent me up is not good enough to be honest. Better to contact the farmer and let him know you are there I think a bit more respectful. kiffy
i couldnt agree more about contacting the farmer and generally we do, even knocking the darmers door if no ones around and the usual place we shoot we shoot right in front of the house but knowing the circumstances sourounding this guy and how he knows the farmers i trust what he says as for side of hereford... not a clue! mate does the driving and im to busy looking for birds to read the road signs
