Wildlife act and semi autos

In the uk . You cant use a Sec 1 semi on ducks . Geese. Or game birds / and ground game .

 

You can however use them on pigeons . And any other avian pests and rabbits and. Rats . And any other pest you can think of .

 

In fact im just about to get started on sorting out my sec1 semi

What you really mean to say is that you can only use a FAC shotgun on the quarry species it is conditioned for.

If your conditions just say avian pests then you can't shoot rabbits and rats

You have already read it :good: (Wildlife and Countryside act 1981).

See section 27 "Interpretations" which defines the following:

 

 

automatic weapon” and “semi-automatic weapon” do not include any weapon the magazine of which is incapable of holding more than two rounds;

When I applied for my second S1 my good reason was rabbit control, which was refused, so I re-applied quoting the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and was granted. Mine simply says, avian species as per the terms and conditions of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which according to my FEO at the time, does not cover rabbits, 'but we know everyone does it'. :)
