pavman Posted September 5, 2014 Report Share Posted September 5, 2014 my local gunshop called me up.... we have a range of new Wildfowling Jackets in wetlands camo these are going to fly out the shop come round and have a look... So I did.... The wetlands Camo pattern had oak leafs as well no doubt to get round some patent The collars are made of a suitable material to gather rain and snow and stay wet making the wearer miserable and cold The hood.... there is no hood. The pockets have rain seals with the exception of two "hand warmers" that are just a slit so rain will get into the liner The label says water proof then another says water resistant.... Now I am not sure if the makers of such garments have ever laid in a ditch at 4:30am waiting on Geese in winter, or been on a tidal flight up a river by boat or walking over mud and gullies in the pouring rain, however my assumption is most likely not Price tag £120 value to a hardened fowler out in all weathers £20 to put over the dog and keep him out of site is my thinking and I am being kind..... Doubtless that down here south of the border in Suffolk they would have much more idea of what the term WILD fowler actually means. I know what you mean though - tat wrapped up to look like Cabella's finest shooting clothing. Good idea of Figgy's though - Direct them to the Cabella website. I don't suppose the same shop is selling any of those 'cheaper than they were supposed to be' cartridges this year? Now they were a good bargain.
