Phoned up a local rfd to where I'm working and asked if he had any cci cb long in stock was told yes so popped down when work finished.

He showed me the box and says this is them £8.00 for 100 it's my last box, gave him my fac to do paper work, he wrote down date, store name and number then stopped writing and started flicking through the pages on my ticket, asked if there was a problem he then said to me sorry I can't sell you these as you are only allowed expanding ammunition this isn't expanding it hasn't got a hole in the tip!!

I said to him that it was subsonic and lead tipped so will expand when it makes impact, was told no so left with half a written line on my fac :-(

Is this right? Can I not get these?

No you have a special dispensation to buy and hold expanding (which was effectively outlawed following Hungerford) you can still by non expanding, in fact if you were buying bullet heads only (ie not made into a live round) you could my them by the millions if you wanted. Your RFD needs training

what do you want the cb longs for as i like most people find them very poor accuracy wise better of with cci quiets if you want a low power round

colin

Where i live to get hold of any cci ammo your very lucky, so when I was working further out I thought i would go down to a local gun shop of the area and the only low power cci ammo he had was this so thought why not I'll get a box and see.

Still on the look out for cci low power ammo also segmenting rounds and stingers
