have many of you chaps noticed a increased number in rabbits this year,

the last dozen or so outings have all fetched double figured numbers of rabbits,

last sunday out with mungolee we had 30+ with more than a dozen of them either pregnant or milky,

have any of you guys noticed this

well that will be about 70 that won`t make it onto the table, Personally I hate shooting pregnant/ milky does, but if it is pest control then it has to be done.

Got hardly a rabbit on the farm, I'm well down on numbers, hares and rats I'm well up on though!

one of my farms is riddled with hare

me and mungolee see over 20 on one field of about 60 acre

farmer said not to touch them during summer but to thin them out in winter we also see about a dozen cwd too and said ok to take a few so long as i butcher one for him so roll on November

I'm not sure I've ever been out after rabbits an shot as few as 2. One Fri/Sat/Sunday I got through 600 odd rounds and didn't miss many. Shot 250 in a single night with NV with a local farmer. I've used ~3000 .22 and .17HMR rounds so far this year. There is no zeroing in those ammo figures.

It seems odd that I may have shot as many rabbits as the entire rest of the forum claims to. I can never quite believe the 'how many rabbits shot' thread.

Crikey, that's a big number!!

I've a couple of small perms, and 2 decent 300-500 acre perms.

I have to say I've not seen a big rise in rabbits, on any of them! In fact, i've not seen many at all. And no sign of desease??

I'm puzzled?? I'm open to advice, (Bar from Kent and Fist)

Blimey, a nice jugged hare on the cards for you then Colin, and then hopefully a CWD or two too! Nice one :-).

I've seen a few more rabbits this year, but unfortunately the other side of the river not where I can shoot, it's like they know.

On one permission between the middle of June and Middle of August i cleared over 300 rabbits, there were more to shoot but alas mixy has taken over. I went for a look a couple of days ago, the place looked deserted, i shot 2.

What do you expect, you shoot them all in the summer, peak breeding time and now they are gone. Thats irradication, farmer must be happy.
