I was thinking the same thing. The round in the pic' looks like a wadcutter head. Out of interest can you put .38 Special through your lever action also?

It is an empty case in the photo matey. The bullet was a 158grn copper plated affair.

A wad cutter would be mustard though. I would think 38 ammo would be fine through it.

One day I will switch to lead only.

Ah, that explains the 'flat' looking head. I wasn't disputing what you had written, just thought you used wadcutters also, and that was one of them. Thanks for the reply.

I have some swaged .38 HBWC heads somewhere that someone did for me yonks ago pre handgun ban. They would need gas checks for mag' loads but if I can find them and you roll your own you can have them FOC. There wont be many as they were just a trial to see how they faired, but I never got round to loading them, but they are in pristine condition.
