Nightmaster or xsearcher

Neither, unless you want to have it permanently focused into a tight square. The adjustment is pants, even more so on the x searcher where the slop and play in the head is horrendous.

Yep, that is annoying especially when they're advertised as 'spot' to 'flood'. However, whatever I've used in the past - Clulite or Lightforce - once I've set the beam, there it stayed and this is no different. Unfortunately, there's no hydraulic engineers near me and buying on t'net incurs a horrendous minimum order charge. But a trip to our local B&Q (ours is quite small so a larger 'super' store may just have a better range) got me some Plumb Sure 1/8" 'O'rings and some 3/4" polythene washers for £2.96. By trial and error from that lot It was possible to adjust the lens and by inserting a ring/washer in the 'groove' that opened up the lens can be secured firmly in place. It was just my luck that all three LED necks needed a different 'shim'. I did have to use a washer for one which needed trimming. I'm sorted now, but all this shouldn't have been necessary.
