loriusgarrulus
Webley jaguars were made between 1949-1979. Ftlbs will depend on the condition of the spring and seals. It will need chrono to check what it is doing. My old Gammo Magnum was running at 4ftlbs till it was seviced and new spring and seals were done. Now it is running at 11.25ftlbs. Service etc cost £75 round here. Edited October 4, 2014 by loriusgarrulus

Paladin
Hi TT that one with the tinplate barrel would have probably been sub 400 fps. about 4? flb Some parts are the same as Diana/Original/Milbro A strip and clean and it would be ideal as a garden plinker. My mate had one in the early sixties but I think his had the steel barrel.

team tractor
Today I've tried it and it shoots smooth . I managed to shoot 1" groups at 10 yards using the iron sights . I know it's nothing special but it's 50 years old and unfired for 20 years
gemini52
I have one with the rolled steel barrel,my mate put it through his crono,it was around 4 foot pounds, cant see them doing much better, for a youngster they are great as a starter gun. loriusgarrulus
If the ftlbs is high it is harder for a youngster to cock it. So one with lower ftlbs is better to start with unless they are very sturdy.
hyflier
I think it's an excellent starter air rifle to learn shooting safety I hope you both have hours of enjoyment with it

1066
A great little starter rifle - My Grandson started aged about 10 with my old Jaguar. He's now progressed to a HW30s, another outstanding junior rifle.
