Fowling in East Anglia

Hello everyone,

A group of three friends and I head North to Scotland in search of geese once a year. Due to the long distance this year we're considering heading East to Norfolk or the wash. We are a little concerned that, unlike Scotland where there are very few people, in the South there will be a greater population density and we'll fall fowl (pun intended) of the local trespass and fowling laws.

Can anyone give me some pointers as to where might be good to go? And if there are any clubs or associations that we need to contact to seek advice from etc etc. Ideally we'd just turn up to the coast and shoot fowl there, but I'm expecting it not to be that easy. We are prepared to pay for a guide if need be, but would prefer not to for obvious reasons.

Also, for the morning flights, do you know of any farmers who like fowlers to go and shoot geese on their land for them?

Many thanks in anticipation!

Well I don't know where you're been shooting But you're be in for a shock heading East Coast or Norfolk thinking you just turn up and go. As for Geese Inland head where your used to going. No guide which I know of also apart from one club you need to know and go with a member

mostly around the wash the land in Lincolnshire that holds geese are very large farms, like the estates in Norfolk further round, and you will be able to say goodbye to your shotgun certificate for armed trespass, the marsh is leased be clubs as already said. If you can get away with wandering about in Scotland chasing geese I suggest you head north atb

Didnt mean take them out I just thought you might know some farmers that need geese shooting to help these lads out, with you being local and all that :innocent::innocent:

we try to leave the geese inland harry if we can, and if we need them shooting, I dare say we can find someone inhouse . anyway haven't you shot your duck for this season !!!!

Hello Oldtoad not sure of your age but as you call yourself oldtoad guessing your not a youngster ! .. I am a bit concerned for you and your shotgun cert !!! what seems to be your lack of understanding on basic rules of were one can shoot ! I feel it might stand you in good stead to join a local (To You ) wildfowling club so that you can gain more knowledge and info on shooting .try FWA or Gedney and also Kings Lynn maybe anyway happy but safe hunting to you and friends ...
