I had one while i was shooting the squirells in my garden with an air rifle... probably my neighbours didn't like it

I had the same thing Saturday afternoon on small permission of mine while thinning the squirrels out with my air rifle , must have been a neighbour rang and the police turned up

I think this is with reference to the announcement from last week Gordon.

There are obviously a few people on this site with FAC/SGC, in view of the recent thread it would be more than interesting to monitor the Increase (or Not) in unannounced home visits!

Perhaps something could be pinned for people to enter details of such visits!

Fao came round a week last Friday to do an unannounced visit, but as i wasn't in at the time he asked my gran who was a few questions (if she knew where i kept the keys etc). Then called me to arrange a better time, so he nipped back on Tuesday dinner. All seemed to go well checked my cabinet and guns. Took no longer than 10 min then off he went, didn't even stay for the standard cuppa! :good:

I have no problem with the police arranging a visit, but I would not be happy if they interrogated members of my family on where I kept my keys etc. I don't know anyone here that has had an unannounced visit.

iv been expecting a visit as it was in the local paper that the police were going to do suprise visits, tbh im quite happy for them to come and have a look/chat/cuppa tea as i cant see what harm its going to do, and when they see im safe and complying to the rules hopefully they will ****** off and pester someone else

but seriously, its gonna happen regardless so if were all civil and above board they will just tick the box and move on - simple.....right ?????

I would say it is standard to ask other family members if they know where the keys are.and I can't see them being anything other than polite when doing so.

Lets just wait and see how this "new" ( :hmm::hmm::hmm:) initiative pans out.

I think one or two people got more than a bit over emotional (and way to over sensitive) and read far more into this in the last thread than is ever going to happen.

My opinion is this is tomorrows chip paper, it is designed for public consumption and I personally don't see the powers that be are making any suggestion we are terrorists (although that seems the only thing some can see).

So, what is the fuss about...don't answer that.................. just report back in 3 months when you have all lost your FAC or the whole thing has been forgotten!

Exactly what i thought :ninja: , had nothing to worry about as everything’s always kept secure! FAO mentioned he had a few more "unannounced" visits to do before the day was out. Be good to get some feedback from other local lads.
