Description

A Parker Hale 803 Trap gun. Essentially a rebranded Winchester 101/Nikko and a lovely little known gun in great condition.

Selling to reduce my collection, located in Bristol.

'The Parker Hale 800 series were better finished than their Winchester 101 cousins excluding the Grand European. The Parker Hale 800 models came as standard with the best overall finish throughout - best timber - best engraving (extending to the barrel tops) - best internal finish - oil finished stock - profusely engraved action / trigger guard / forend opener / top lever etc. all given a silk matt silver nitrate finish - the attention to detail for the British market extended to the barrels, the barrels are of excellent measurements at the point of manufacture, with barrel wall thickness similar to English guns of the period and times gone by, the barrels were made consistently lightweight, ensuring top quality handling normally found in guns many times more expensive.

The Parker Hale 800 series shotguns have a well proven track record for longevity and reliability, as the guns can be directly compared with the later build quality specifications found in the Winchester 101 XTR, Pigeon Grade, Diamond Grade and Grand European.

The guns are well balanced / excellent handling and are already finding classic status - the Parker Hale 800 (Top models) have a very close relative in the Winchester Grand European - there is plenty of information available on the Grand European - we leave you to make the direct comparisons between the two guns - both guns use all the same action bodies, internal parts, firing pins, main springs, top lever, barrel closer, cocking levers, ejectors, barrels, action bodies and barrels all of which were made by the same manufactures who made the Winchester 101 (Nikko)'

The Parker Hale 800 series manufacturing periods have been suggested between were made between 1984 and 1987 - the production run for the Parker Hale 800 series was small, with the guns being directed at the UK market and British shooting community as a direct competitor or alternative to the product ranges supplies by Beretta, Browning and Winchester. The small production run of the 800 series, will make these guns interesting, rare and collectable. We believe these guns will make good future investment and at the same time a reliable shooting classic.'

Guessed as much, is it a popular misconception that winchesters are the same as nikko's , as far as I'm aware they were both made in the ohlin factory but are not the same gun, I have had both and they vary quite a bit where the parker hale was as I understand a winchester and most parker hale SxS were made by ugartechea
