The Jack Russell dog - named Busker - was attacked in the back garden of a Violet McElreavey’s Coleraine home on Sunday, October 12. It's thought the injuries may have been caused by a blunt object - possibly a hammer. Police said it happened between 6am and 10am. The dog was later put down due to the extent of his injuries.
