michufc
Hi I am contemplating making my permission into a kind of mini shoot come wildlife reserve for me and my family and one of my shooting friends. It's just really to get my kids more into the outdoors and possibly get some pheasants possibly ducks for the pot. The farm is roughly 150/200 acres with it centred around the small woods and to the right of that is a shallow small pond. The woods are well matured with quite a lot of undergrowth Your thoughts and advise will be needed and very welcomed Cheers mike
loriusgarrulus
Sounds a good idea. What does the owner of the land think and will he guarentee you continuity if you spend any amount of money developing it.
michufc
Well I have been shooting on the land now for 5 years and I don't think he will have a problem at all but I will be asking tomorrow. I saw a man wandering about the woods the other day with a German Shepard so I just need to check that he hasn't got permission to do so as there is no rights of way in the woods. As I am not looking to offend anyone just want to get everyone on board if I get the nod
michufc
Hi to all I have been up the farm today and had a word with the farmer and asked permission for feeders and the such like and he said that because I have been loyal for all these years he has no problem whatsoever as long as it doesn't allow his cattle to get into the woods for instances and the vermin are still kept in check I have his permission to carry on. And the other bonus was when I asked about the duck pond he told me that there is to many ducks on it and he was going to ask me to thin them out a bit anyway so go ahead. What a result I am really chuffed
