Ricko
Hi Apologies, as I asked a similar question 4 years ago when the rifle belonged to my mother, I have now wrestled it from her for my son Can you recommend a mid-range/mid-price scope and mount for a Webley Excel? I have little knowledge of scopes and fitting them having used iron sights for years on air-rifles, the only other scoped rifle I have came with it on already. Cheers Ricko
HDAV
Plenty around what do you want to spend? Recommend one piece mount to help reduce the impact of recoil. Nikko sterling are decent budget, or look for an older tasco secondhand.
Ricko
I've just checked my AirArms and it has a 4x32 scope on it, would that be a suitable magnification? Do I need to remove the metal sights after a scope is fitted? Sorry if these are 'noob' questions but have no idea when it comes to scopes. Cheers
HDAV
4x32would be fine as for removing the irons it depends on the gun often the rear site needs to go as it fouls the scope/fitted to the same rail.
FalconFN
3-9x40 scopes are popular for air rifles. Simmons, Nikki Stirling and Hawke all make respectable low cost scopes that will do the job
