spandit
Why does it seem to be Harris, **** or mind-blowingly expensive? They're not massively complicated devices, surely there is another manufacturer out there than can produce a decent product at a reasonable price? onatangent
I bought a Chinese swivel stud version with weaver rail adapter from fleabay. Exactly the same as the deben my rfd has in stock minus the weaver adapter and was delivered for £15. Faultless, excellent value and works perfectly. Noticed prices for Chinese items are rising since I bought mine. If you want the seller id let me know
onatangent
maybe they aren't mounted backwards and its for recoil compensation to stop the legs folding up... Almost seems like a valid excuse lol

I have one on my daystate that was £20 and works fine as far as I can see
David M
I have a Deben 9" retractable jobby and it's been fine, then I found my upturned tripod seat done the job superbly and allows the gun to be upright whatever the terrain angle, just pad the legs or gun to save marking the stock... .... FIVER.....
Dekers
This is a minefield area, and whilst there is a general consensus that Harris are the dogs danglies (except when you take the leap to serious, serious, serious cost and target) there are many other makes in the market place that will serve many shooters well. I have 2 different Harris and they are a good few years old now, I shoot a lot, and I next to never shoot without the bipod, they have served me well on everything I use, but not everyone has such a requirement and you may well find some of the cheaper options worth considering, including the likes of this.................... More commonly seem in a fishing environment!
secretagentmole
I bought a Deben, the pins holding it to the QD stud fell out. Then the rubber pads that protect the stock fell off. Then one day as I was putting the legs down the spring came off the right upper and smashed across my fingers. Then it went into the ditch! Bought a Harris, never had a problem with it, so now only have Harris bipods!
